It's here! The audiobook, "A Catholic's View of Sin" is finally ready. I started producing this 44 minute audiobook on August 1, 2016 and after many long days and hours it is out of production and ready for listeners.

A Catholic's View of Sin is available today at Audible and soon to be released at iTunes and Amazon. Listen as I narrate James Nugent's frank discussion about the Catholic world view of sin and how sin affects both Christians and non-Christians alike.

"Sin is insidious!" Mr. Nugent explains in this comprehensive analysis of The Ten Commandments and how sin can ruin our lives. Thankfully, we have a loving Father who forgives us of our sins which allows us to start over and begin a better, more fulfilling life.

Pick up your copy of A Catholic's View of Sin today and discover the convenience of listening to books.

Voiceover Narration Assignment
My most recent voice narration job offer came from author James Nugent of Eld Inlet Services. When I read the title of the manuscript, "The Catholic Way of Dying," I immediately felt honored to be offered an assignment that covered a very sensitive topic… death.

I humbly accepted the assignment. The author gave very few directions. In fact, his primary direction was, “Pray!” Well, that was an easy order because I always pray before starting an assignment, especially an assignment as precious as this one. The other direction the author gave me was, “Just be you.”

I read through the manuscript three times to get a feel for the proper delivery. A topic such as this deserves almost perfection in tempo, pitch, and inflections in order to deliver the message correctly.

After reading the manuscript, I was left with a feeling of contentment about the subject of dying. The fear of dying went away. In fact, living with the thought of death being a part of life encouraged me to live a good life now; to enjoy life to the fullest; to live in the moment; to enjoy every thing and everyone in my life. This audiobook is, in a way, a gift of life.

The Catholic Way of Dying
We all die. It is a fact of life. In living a good life, we need to also plan and be prepared for what happens when we die. Catholics have a unique way of looking at death and living with death.

Everyone dies at one point or another. No one escapes death. The audiobook, The Catholic Way of Dying, was narrated and produced to help everyone understand how to live life without the fear of dying.

Publisher’s Summary
For modern culture that does not highly value life, it is paradoxical that we don’t want to talk about the dying process or the possibility of an afterlife. Catholics sometimes suffer from the same hesitation about talking about death. Yet the Roman Catholic religion and culture are constant preparation for that moment when we must trust Jesus for our salvation. All the rituals and sacraments, prepare our minds and hearts for that thing from which there is no escape. --James Nugent, Author

The Best Voiceover Tip is to Just Be Yourself

PictureJust be yourself.
When I first started my voice over career, I felt like I had to be better than myself. I wanted to be ready for any kind of assignment, so I practiced different voices and acting techniques to try to be the best I could be whenever I performed for voiceover assignments. Then, I received my first voiceover client within days after posting a demo to my audiobook profile page.

The client said he liked my voice. He gave me a manuscript and the only direction he gave me was, "Just be yourself." I thought, "Yeah, right!" Surely, I thought, the client would want me to add some pizzazz. I didn't think my voice was good enough to be heard "as is." But, the client was adamant. So, I read the manuscript in a casual manner, much the way I would read it if I was reading something out loud to myself.

To my surprise, the client was thrilled with the result and I have been hired for multiple projects ever since. Now, when I read a script, I just sit down in front of the microphone and read. That's my job... to read out loud. I enjoy reading, so I enjoy my job a lot.

Bill DeWees is a well-known voiceover professional. His advice through personal coaching, videos, and books are valuable to no end. In today's video, Mr. DeWees talks about how a good voice over is like an electric toothbrush. The message is that voiceover professionals do not need to work so hard. We should approach the assignment from a more natural tone. I think this is excellent advice.
