My entrance into the audiobook publication world started off with a bang. I posted a voice narration demo on my profile page and then all of a sudden… BANG! I received an offer to narrate a fabulous book titled, “More Good News About Being Catholic,” by James Nugent. James Nugent is an extraordinary writer. His words flow like honey. He has a melodic style that reads like a well-orchestrated music production. So, when this fine writer asked me to narrate one of his books, at that moment, I felt very blessed. To narrate an audiobook for James Nugent is, well… an honor.
The Production
I collaborated with my husband’s video production company, Sunset Video Productions, to produce the audiobook. He is amazing at what he does. So, when my husband agreed to come out of retirement to help me, I knew the production would be a success. And, I was right.
My recording studio and equipment is top of the line. My husband’s talent is A+. My voice just happens to be what Mr. Nugent is looking for. The category is religion and spirituality (which is what I prayed my first assignment would be). It all worked out beautifully. From my perspective, it feels like a God-blessing. I have found my purpose in life. Using what the good Lord gave me (my voice) to get the good word out, I get to be me and I get to spread God’s message to the world. In life on earth, this is as good as it gets… for me.
The Audiobook - More Good News About Being Catholic
Although the title is, More Good News About Being Catholic, this audiobook can be enjoyed by all people of the Christian faith. It is about the need for confession. As Christians, we know that we are all sinners. As sinners, we need to recognize our sins, confess them out loud, and then ask for forgiveness. Confession is walking in the light.
1 John 1:5-10
This is the message we have heard from him and declared to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
So, my friends, no matter what denomination of faith you practice, if your denomination is based upon Christianity, confession of sins is an intricate component to being loyal to your faith. More Good News About Being Catholic is an audiobook with a message that every Christian will gain benefit from hearing.
